About the event

The HUBZone program aims to fuel small business growth in historically underutilized business zones with a goal of awarding at least 3% of federal contract dollars to HUBZone-certified companies each year. To put that in perspective, in 2023, the federal government committed about $759 BILLION on contracts, according to the U.S. Government Accountability Office. A 3% portion of that pie represents more than $22 BILLION!

In this workshop, you will learn about:

  • the scope and benefits of the HUBZone program

  • small business qualifications to become HUBZone eligible

  • how to apply to become HUBZone certified

  • required documentation

  • how to maintain certification

We will also have breakout sessions on preparing eye-catching Capabilities Statements and how to qualify/apply for other underutilized business certifications, such as Women-Owned Small Business, Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business, etc.
