Distinguished Speaker is Mr. Ken Wood who leads 130 full-time employees based in the 25 TxDOT districts. They also assist in interpreting purchasing law, policies & procedures, manages suppliers, facilitates procurement negotiations, provides procurement training, oversees purchasing cards & assists with outreach actrivities for the department;s Historically Undeerutulized Business (HUB) program. He holds a Master's Degree in Business Administraion from Wayland Baptist University. in 2017, TxDOT's Procurement Division earned the 2017 Annual Achievement of Excellence in Procurement Award (AEP). The award measues continuously evolving citeria designed to identify procurement programs utilizing state-of-the-art best practices. TxDOT is one of only 12 agencies in the United States to receive the award.
